Canine Physiotherapy

As well as being mobile you can now visit us at our veterinary physiotherapy and underwater treadmill hydrotherapy clinic based in Hare Hatch. You can make bookings through our Clinic website Wobblydog.com

What to expect from a session

A typical physiotherapy session duration for dogs is around an hour and covers the following:

A discussion of your dogs history, health, condition and what you want from the session 

1. Discussion

A gait lameness assessment of how your dog moves. Palpation assessment of muscles, joints, spine / back and specific structures head to paw

2. Assessment

Targeted physiotherapy treatment of assessment findings and pre-existing conditions with manual therapies and electrotherapy treatment (Laser, PEMF, TENS, Photizo)

3. Treatment

A full report will be emailed to the owner post session and can be provided to vets, hydrotherapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to promote your dogs health and rehabilitation

4. Report

Therapeutic exercises are always prescribed and individualised weekly progressive rehab plans can be created

5. Therapeutic home exercises 

Treatable conditions

Agility dogs, working dogs, ageing / geriatric dogs all benefit from physiotherapy assessment and treatment due to the musculoskeletal demands placed upon them. It is also not uncommon for companion dogs to require physiotherapy to maintain health and mobility, and in cases of injury.

  • Cranial cruciate ligament injury

  • FCE (fibrocartilaginous embolism)

  • Lumbosacral disease / stenosis

  • Atlantoaxial instabililty

  • Degenerative myelopathy 

  • Cerebellar syndrome

  • Spinal cord injuries

Mobile equine and canine physiotherapy services are available within a 15 mile radius from RG4.
Ant additional miles will be surcharged at 50p a mile.
